A review on the role of CAFs and CAF-derived exosomes in progression and metastasis of digestive system cancers

Cancers evolve as a result of the accelerated proliferation cancer cells in complicated, enriched, and active microenvironment. Tumor microenvironment (TME) components are master regulators any step development. The tumor is composed many cellular noncellular that contribute to evolution cells. Cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) activated TME implicate progression metastasis dissemination through secretion oncogenic factors which carried secondary metastatic sites exosomes. In this review, we aimed assess role CAF-derived exosomes construction pre-metastatic niche formation different cancers digestive system order better understand some important mechanisms provide possible targets for clinical intervention. This review article divided into two thematic parts explaining general including colorectal, gastric, esophageal, pancreatic, liver cancers.
